Dogtooth fabric, also know as Hounds Tooth, hounds tooth check or houndstooth is a two-tone textile pattern made from broken checks or having abstract four-pointed shapes, often in tan or black and white.Dogtooth fabric originated in the Scottish lowlands, but has become a popular pattern for wool fabrics, especially gentlemen's attire such as jackets and shirts.
