Abbeville Dornick Linen Red Rust
Product Code: LF12860
From
£400.00 per metreThis design, dating to around 1650, is believed to have originated in the medieval French town of Abbeville, near the Somme, northwest of Amiens. We have carefully reproduced its characteristic double-cloth construction as a heavy and luxurious Dornick linen weave. Dornick linen is a strong, coarse woven linen originating from Tournai and surrounding areas, including Abbeville, widely used in the 16th–18th centuries for table linens, bed hangings, curtains, and upholstery, often featuring simple or damask-woven decorative patterns in two-tone designs. The fabric is reversible so red over rust or rust over red.
