Robert Stewart Textiles

Robert Stewart, the Scottish artist and designer, was a contemporary of Lucienne Day and one of the few designers whom she admired. A prolific worker, Stewart produced tapestries, paintings, ceramics, graphics, and murals but it is his textile designs that have been the most influential, in particular those produced by Pringle, Liberty, and Donald Brothers in the 1950's.
