Erastus Brigham Bigelow (1814–1879)was an American inventor whose improvements to the Jacquard power loom and velvet machinery helped make patterned velvet more efficient to produce in the 19th century. Bigelow’s inventions increased output dramatically and made cut-pile patterned velvets more available beyond luxury markets.
