Improvements made to the Jacquard loom and velvet machinery by Erastus Brigham Bigelow (1814–1879) made cut-pile patterned velvets available beyond luxury markets. Here we have a very traditional design of cut pile velvet, with a heavy raised velvet nap and woven patterned background. This fabric is also very durable with 80,000 Martindale rub test. Available with standard or flame retardant finish, suitable for domestic or commercial upholstery, curtains, blinds and general furnishings.
